Brympton House Wedding
Alice & Joe

I’ve always loved photographing at Brympton House, definitely my favourite venue in the Somerset countryside. I had a really nice video call with Alice a few months before. Just making that connection already excited me about being involved. On the day I was first with Joe, his brother and friends, before photographing people turning up for the wedding. In what felt like no time at all I was in the bridal suite. Quite often people feel the pressure at this point in the day, but it looked like Alice and her friends where in a relaxed enough mood, which always helps when taking photos. Once she was in her dress, I could have spent a good half an hour or more in the bridal suite with her. It felt like doing a vogue shoot because everything felt so visually pleasing. For me what I love the most about photographing weddings is the emotion and atmosphere on the day, but when you have a large window with light streaming through, a beautiful dress and Alice, it certainly lifted me creatively.

We were then off to the stairs to see Richard in uniform see Alice for the first time in her dress before heading to the ceremony, which not only had some lovely moments throughout but some beautiful singing, which I found very moving. At one point I was so absorbed in what was going on, I started to smell burning. I turned around and realised a candle flame had started to burn a hole into my jacket! Anyway, I survived and after a very energetic confetti run things calmed down as people congratulated Alice and Joe. We had a few minutes to do some couple photos in the beautiful grounds before we headed into the wedding breakfast for food and speeches. Genuinely, I felt the speeches were first class I loved listening. There was lots of laughter in the room, particularly after Isaac had told a very funny story from his childhood with Joe definitely enjoying his role as big brother. It was then time for Alice and Joe to cut the cake, which they did in style. It was hilarious! And finally the first dance, a wonderful end to this very special day. Enjoy viewing some of my favourite images from this great day.

What can I say - thank you so much! These are really beautful and capture some amazing moments of us and of all our guests - as well of Brympton itself. We’re so happy with them and have been looking through them all weekend. You’ve done an amazing job.
