Wedding Photography FAQ

Wedding planning brings up many questions, and the wedding photography element is no different.

On this page, I have a selection of answers to some of the most common queries I receive. If you have a question that isn't mentioned on this page, please contact me, and I will provide you with all the information you need.

1. How would you describe your style?

I classify myself as a documentary wedding photographer. By this I mean I specialise in capturing the day authentically, as it naturally unfolds. You won’t find me setting up posed photos by asking you or your guests to do silly things.

Read more about my documentary work.

2. What do your packages Tend to include?
  • Between 300 and 500 processed and perfected images

  • Unlimited pre-wedding meetings (face to face, WhatsApp and FaceTime available)

  • Images hosted on a stunning cloud-based platform for viewing, downloading, printing and sharing. Works across screen sizes & devices

  • High-resolution files with a full license to print and share

  • High definition slideshow set to tasteful music (and featured on your cloud platform)

  • All travel expenses within England and Wales

3. Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured. I have professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance.

4. How do we book you?

A £300 booking fee is required to secure your date; this can be paid via BACS (details supplied during the enquiry process).

5. You are based in Surrey. Do you travel elsewhere?

Yes, I am based near Guildford in Surrey. I would be happy to travel anywhere to photograph your wedding.

6. Does it matter if you haven’t worked at my venue before?

No. If I haven’t worked at a venue before, I factor in a venue visit on the morning of the wedding (or before) to familiarise myself.

7. When will I receive my images after the wedding?

You will receive your images within 8 weeks of your wedding.

8. Can I print and share the images?

Yes, you can. You're assigned full and unrestricted usage rights to print and share the images.

9. How long have you been a photographer and how many weddings do you shoot a year?

I've been a full-time wedding photographer for 10 years, shooting between 20 and 30 weddings a year. I now shoot a maximum of 10 weddings each year. For me it’s all about quality over quantity.

I've documented weddings across faiths and cultures and have worked in hundreds of different locations and venues.

10. Are you a full time photographer?

Yes, I am a full time professional photographer. I don’t photograph weddings as a second job or as something to do in my spare time. This allows me to give you my full attention 100% of the time.

11. Do you do posed couple portraits?

Typically I’ll spend 10 to 15 minutes with couples. My portraits usually involve a nice walk in a pretty environment. I tend not to pose couples. Instead, I want these portraits to blend seamlessly with the documentary coverage.

12. Do you do group shots?

Of course, I would be happy to. I realise the importance of having some small group photos and setting time aside for them. However, I do suggest keeping them to around three so as not to interrupt the natural flow of the day.

13. Should I add a second photographer?

Second photographers are ideal for weddings where there are more than 120 guests to ensure more consistent coverage of wedding guests is achieved. It's also useful to add a photographer when multiple locations are involved. An additional photographer can easily be added to any package.

14. Do you have back-up equipment?

Yes, I always have multiple cameras and multiple lenses. Technical issues are very rare, but rest assured, I’m covered.
