Southsea beach cafe
Hannah & Alex

I love a weddings in beach settings! For much of my time with Hannah and Alex we were right by the beach, first starting in the Square Tower for the ceremony and then to the Southsea Beach Cafe for the duration of the evening. It was a wonderful day and just what I needed to focus on after the first year of Covid, which profoundly affected all of us. Although I was commissioned for a small few weddings during that time they were smaller in size, which made for an intimacy that I really liked. But it just felt good to be back to the way things should be. As you might guess my absolute favourite part of being a wedding photographer is being there on each wedding day, people watching as I mingle amongst the guests. There were some lovely moments throughout. Towards the end of this wonderful day, when I felt that the light would aid us in producing some flattering couple shots, I suggested to Hannah and Alex that we have a brief walk on the beach. They looked on towards the Southsea Pier, which brought back some fond memories. They met for the first time on the pier. The rest as they say was history.

As for the photos, we were blown away. John has a fantastic ability to capture those special ‘moments’ and the atmosphere of the day, that make you want to relive it over and over again. As for the Still Film - we are so pleased to have added this in at the last minute. We love the photos, but seeing them stitched together to music, with parts of the vows and speeches over the top is something we will truly treasure forever. It gets better each time we watch it and there is never a dry eye in the house! Thank you so much John!
